Kohl’s Hiring for Retail Jobs in Connecticut

Kohl’s Department Store has announced they are recruiting for retail jobs in Connecticut.

In all, Kohl’s said it expects to hire more than 40,000 seasonal workers at its stores nationwide.

That is a 20 percent increase over the number of temporary workers it hired during the 2009 holiday shopping season, the company said.

In 2009, Kohl’s hired 33,000 seasonal workers to check people out, stock stores, fold clothes, and assist customers.

But people won’t just be working in the stores. Kohl’s said it expects to hire a total of 40,375 seasonal workers, including about 38,100 at its retail stores, 2,200 at its distribution centers and 60 in support of its credit operations.

Kohl’s has 1,089 stores in 49 states and operates 18 retail stores in Connecticut.

Each retail location will pick up about 35 seasonal employees each year.

As for hours worked, it varies per position. Some employees may work more than 20 hours a week, while some only put in a few hours a week.
