Litchfield-based laser machine company Jamieson Laser has made a key hire for technician jobs in Connecticut.
The company expanded its team by hiring laser technician Alonso Castro.
Castro received his bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the University of New Haven in 2012 and is currently working in Jamieson’s customer support group focused on answering customers’ inquiries concerning software, technical graphic solutions, change of spare parts, and ultimately using laser machines appropriately in fast-paced environments.
At Jamieson Laser, he is responsible for testing new materials, software troubleshooting, setting up new machines, changing spare parts, and finding the various ways to accurately use laser engraving machines.
Castro teaches new customers about laser machine systems and how they work; assists in training new customers on how to install their machines and its components, such as the water cooler for the CO2 laser, exhaust fan, air assist compressor, and other parts; and answers telephone and email inquiries regarding Jamieson’s laser systems.
While all of Jamieson’s CO2 and YAG laser machines assist with engraving, marking, and cutting, functionality changes. Tabletop machines offer a design for smaller operations, while the LG line manages larger jobs. Other models address specific workplace needs: CMA laser machines suit sheet work, CMA-F is better for cutting roll materials, and Large Format systems feature an open top to handle full-sized sheets.
