Companies hire for real estate jobs in Connecticut

More and more companies appear to be bringing on people for real estate jobs in Connecticut.
This is according to the latest jobs data from job board Simply Hired.
Nationwide job openings have increased for the seventh time in eight months. In December, job openings had an increase of 3.9 percent month-over-month and 10.5 percent year-over-year. Nationwide job competition held steady at a ratio of three unemployed persons for every one job opening.
Job openings increased in all 50 of the major metros in December. Cincinnati (9.4%), Austin (7.7%), Salt Lake City (7.4%) and St. Louis (6.2%) experienced the largest gains. In addition, job competition held steady in 49 out of 50 major metros.
Job openings increased in more than half of all industries (11 out of 18) in December. The non-profit (43.5%) and real estate (11.7%) industries showed the largest gains. Year-over-year, two-thirds of industries are experiencing growth. However, the military (-15.3%) and retail (-12.9%) industries faced the largest decreases in job openings in December.
More than 80 percent of occupation categories (15 out of 18) experienced growth in job openings this month. Farm, fishing and forestry (9.6%), personal care and service (8.8%) and construction and extraction (8.2%) workers experienced the largest amount of growth month-over-month. However, computer engineers (-4.3%) faced the largest decline in December.
“It is very exciting to see 2012 come to a close with job openings up 10 percent year-over-year,” said James Beriker, president and CEO of Simply Hired. “Over the last year, we’ve seen job openings consistently climb while the ratio of unemployed persons to each job opening has held steady. These factors indicate that 2013 is setting up to be another year of positive and steady growth.”
